A guest lecturer is going to explain that the way popular comedian Hannah Gadsby subverts the comedy genre can be applied in a similar way to significantly enhance academic engagement.
Similarly to how Hannah Gadsby’s comedy special Nanette subverts the comedy genre, Dr Sheree Bekker will explain how academic tools can be used strategically to enhance their impact and purpose.
She will talk about how rules and norms, such as those applied within genre theory, can be taught as a specific genre and method that can be applied to improve connectivity in the academic world.
Her talk will be held next week on 23 January 5-7pm at the University of East London, to reserve your place to hear more about Dr Bekker's insights go to the eventbrite.
This event is open to EUL staff, students and graduates only.
